Blackberry Doobie Recipe. Buttermilk biscuit over a blackberry jam which is similar to a cobbler. Famous southern recipe. Served best with vanilla bean ice cream. Buttermilk biscuits take about 5 minutes to prep. In a large pot allow the blackberries to sit in the cornstarch or arrowroot and sugar for 15 minutes. After adding the water and butter to the blackberries boil for about 7-10 minutes. After, turn down the heat to low/medium. Add the biscuits as a spoonful. Don't forget to cover for about 15-20 minutes until dough is cooked. Self rising flour is the base for the biscuits. Self rise flour consists of baking powder and salt. It is softer protein than regular flour. Blackberry Doobie is the perfect dessert for the spring or summer.
