Thanksgiving Bao Buns Recipe. Perfect recipe to make with Thanksgiving leftovers. I served this meal with the Trader Joe's Sugar Plum Sparkling Beverage. Bao buns are usually made my hand. Thanksgiving food I used this year was my homemade cranberry sauce, matcha bao buns, korean bbq mushrooms, cornbread stuffing, kewpie mayonnaise and lime garlic green beans. This little twist for Thanksgiving made it a new memorable meal.

Matcha Bao Bun Dough (Breadmaker)
1/3 Cup Warm Water
1/2 Cup Milk (Vegan Oat Milk)
1 Tbsp Active Yeast or Instant Yeast
4 Tbsp Sugar Cane
2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
2.5 Cups Flour + 1/2 Cup (Form)
1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
1/4 Tsp Salt
3 Tbsp + 1/2 Tsp(Form) Organic Sweet Matcha Powder
Cranberry Sauce
1 Bag Cranberries
1.5 Tbsp Honey (Wildflower Honey)
1.5 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Sugar Cane
Cornbread Stuffing Mix
1/4 Cup Butter
1.5 Cups Vegetable Stock
2 Tsp Thyme
2 Tsp Paprika
1 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Lemon Pepper
1.5 Tsp Minced Garlic
Lime Garlic Green Beans
1 Cup Green Beans
1/4 Cup Water
1/4 Tsp Salt
1/4 Lime Squeezed
1 Tsp Minced Garlic
Korean BBQ Mushrooms
4 Chopped Organic Baby Bella Mushrooms
2 Tsp Avocado Oil
1.5 Tbsp Butter
1.5 Tsp Mushroom Umami Seasoning
1/4 Tsp Lemon Pepper
1/4 Tsp Salt
1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
1.5 Tbsp Korean BBQ Sauce
Instruction Guide:
Gather ingredients and recipes you want for Thanksgiving .
Tip: Prep Cranberry sauce the day before to have time to thicken. Make cranberry sauce by boiling the water first. Then add cranberries, sugar and honey. Set to low and boil until thicken for 15 minutes.
Refrigerate cranberry sauce overnight.
Matcha bao bun takes 2 Hours in breadmaker. If making by hand take time to rise and knead in between the dough growing.
Cornbread stuffing mix is the best flavor. Substitute vegetable stock for water in the instructions.
Medium heat put butter on pan. Then add veggie stock, the stuffing mix, and your seasonings. Mix for 3 minutes.
Put on baking tray in oven 375 ° F baking for 10-12 minutes until desired crisp.
Clean your pan and reuse for garlic lime green beans. Use fresh or frozen green beans. Add water to boil. Once softened squeeze lime and add garlic on low heat for 4 minutes.
Clean pan again. Tip: uses less kitchenware and creates less of a mess with so many pans. Chop your baby bella mushrooms in a thin horizontal.
Add butter and avocado oil to pan medium heat. When bubbly add mushrooms with the seasoning. Cook for 8 minutes. Add your korean bbq sauce.
Turn off burner. Tip: Still cooks and allows flavor to meld.
Time to shape bao buns. On counter top and rolling pin add flour. Knead until bao flour is fluffy when you poke it with a finger.
Set a stock pot with 2 inches of water. Line bamboo steamer with parchment paper. Set high heat for boil.
Use a cup to shape bao buns. Rolling the pin for the thickness.
Add bao buns to bamboo steamer. Steam for 8-12 minutes until cooked.
Let bao buns cool for 2 minutes. Prep your bao Thanksgiving leftover stuffings and add kewpie mayonnaise.
