Brazilian Empadão De Frango - Chicken Pot Pie Recipe. Traditional, savory pie made with easy ingredients and a creamy sauce. Empadinhas are a mini pot pie which I made, along with a rectangle family style platter. Preferred to make with requeijão, which is a Brazilian cream cheese; can substitute with regular cream cheese. Served over rice and potato fries for a nice crunch. Tart can be filled with chicken, tuna, vegetables, or red meat. This crust is puffy and buttery. *Mini Springform Pan, Rectangle Pan

Dough for Crust : * Double for Large Pan

  • 2 Cups Flour

  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda

  • 1/2 Cup Butter

  • 1 Egg Yolk

  • 1 Tsp Salt

  • 2-3 Tbsp Water

  • Egg Wash (Brush Top Pie)

Chicken Filling:

  • 4 Cups Cooked Shredded Chicken

  • 3 Tbsp Olive Oil

  • 3/4 Cup Small Diced Green Bell Pepper

  • 2 Cups Brazilian Requeijão / 2 Packages Cream Cheese

  • 3/4 Cup Tomato Sauce

  • 7 Garlic Cloves

  • 1 Cup Media Cream or Milk

*Optional 2 Tbsp Diced Green Olives


  • 3 Tsp Salt

  • 1 Tbsp Oregano

  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder

  • 3 Tsp Paprika

  • 2 Tsp Black Pepper
